Orlando C. Adams Jr. Tuesday, September 25, 1945 - Saturday, March 11, 2017

Orlando C. Adams Jr., 71, of Avella, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Trinity Health System, Steubenville, Ohio. He was born on September 25, 1945, in Avella, son of the late Orlando C. and Freda V. Burns Adams. Mr. Adams was a 1966 graduate of Wellsburg High School and received his welding certificate from Jeff Tech of Steubenville, OH. He was a United States Army veteran and worked at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel in Mingo as a millwright for 31 years, retiring in 2003. Mr. Adams was a member of Wellsburg Church of the Nazarene and the United Steelworkers of America Local Union 1190 of Steubenville, OH. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. On November 5, 1966 in Wellsburg Church of the Nazarene, he married Linda Jean Taylor, who survives. Surviving in addition to his wife of 50 years are, two brothers, James (MaryBeth) Adams of Wellsburg, WV, Mark (Sherri) Adams of West Alexander; two sisters, Joyce (William) Simmons of Avella, Alice (Rick) Carroll of Avella; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are, two children, Glenda Jean Adams and Orlando Clinton Adams; three sisters, Patricia, Judy and Florence Adams; and a brother, Ray L. Adams. Friends and family will be received from 2-4pm & 6-8pm on Tuesday, March 14, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home, Inc., located at 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312, where services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, March 15, with Pastor Brian Knight officiating. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery, Avella, with full military rites accorded graveside by American Legion Bert C. Siders Post 643 of Avella.
