Mary "Mada" Midler Sunday, January 13, 1929 - Monday, July 3, 2017
Mary “Mada” Midler 88, of Avella, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017, in her home surrounded by family. She was born on January 13, 1929 in Francis, WV, daughter of the late George and Pauline Zec Kusich. Mrs. Midler was a 1947 graduate of Avella High School. She was a lifelong resident of Avella and was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church and Cross Creek Valley Senior Citizens. Mrs. Midler enjoyed living on the family farm, gardening and spending time with the grandchildren. She loved cooking for the family, especially on the holidays. On February 26, 1949 in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, she married Michael Midler Sr., who died on January 30, 1986. Surviving Mrs. Midler are, a daughter, Nancy (Jack) Brownlee of Weirton, WV; four sons, David Midler of Burgettstown, Larry (Bonnie) Midler of Avella, Tom Midler of Avella and Alan (Lori) Midler of Avella; two sisters, Pauline (Steve) Spataro of Washington and Zora (Andy) Darabant of Imperial; two brothers, Nick (Jean) Kusich of Washington, Alex (Alice) Kusich of Nashville, TN; 13 grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Jaclyn, Jonathan, Adam, Ashley, David Alan, Alicia, John, Jenna, Troy, Raquel and Jessica; five great-grandchildren, Andi, David John, McKinley, Edith and Mia; sister-in-law, Josephine Midler of Avella and Louise Midler of San Antonio, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are, a son, Michael J. Midler; two sisters, Anne Sarek and Catherine Martincheck; and a brother, Larry “Lucko” Kusich. Friends and family will be received from 2-4pm & 6-8pm on Wednesday, July 5, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home, Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Thursday, July 6, in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 97 Highland Avenue, Avella, with Rev. Robert M. Staszewski officiating.
