Lewis O. Kelley Sr. Sunday, March 16, 1930 - Thursday, March 23, 2017

Lewis O. Kelley Sr., 87, of West Middletown, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 in the Washington Hospital. He was born on March 16, 1930 in West Middletown, son of the late George Mackfee and Romaine Kelley. Mr. Kelley was a United States Army veteran and worked at Weirton Steel Corp. as a trucking foreman for 30 years, retiring in 1985. He also owned and operated an excavating business. He was a member of St. Paul AME Church of Washington, Masonic Lodge of Canonsburg and Independent Steelworker Union. Mr. Kelley was a lifelong resident of West Middletown. On September 17, 1951, he married Lois Laverne Kelley, who died on January 7, 1995. Surviving are, a son, Lewis O. Kelley Jr. of Avella; two daughters, Esther Kelley of West Middletown, Carla (Ben) Wilson of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Cedric Hicks, Sheena Hicks both of Pittsburgh and Britt Kelley of Follansbee, WV; three great grandchildren, Brandyn, Kamryn and Zaedyn Jones; a sister, Rosalie (Alphonza) Robertson of McKeesport; two brothers, Leroy (Margaret) Kelley of Florence, KY and James Kelley of South Holland, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents, are: a brother Leonard Kelley; two sisters Edith V. Tillie and Edna R. Williams. Friends and family will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Sunday, March 26, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home, Inc., located at 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312, where services will be held at 11am on Monday, March 27. Burial will be in West Middletown Cemetery. To the Kelley family I'm sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Kelley when I came to this area and joining the Elks. Mr Kelley was truly a one of s kind loveable person. Heaven gained another angel but he already had his wings. RIP.
