Karen Powers Adams Karen Powers Adams, 62, of Avella, passed away on, Thursday, April 27, 2017, in her daughter’s Bulger home. She was born on December 17, 1954, in Follansbee, West Virginia, daughter of the late Robert E. and Wanda J. Prevost Powers. Ms. Adams attended Avella High School, and worked at ARC Human Services in Avella as a Residential Program Worker for 15 years, until she became ill. Ms. Adams was a member of Avella Presbyterian Church, a social member of the Avella American Legion, Polar Star Mutual Benefit Society, Raccoon Valley Sportsman Club and Cherry Valley Sportsman Club. She loved to crochet and enjoyed spending time outside gardening and doing yard work. Surviving are, two daughters, Tonee Hayes of Bulger and Amy (Mike) Brown of Bulger; three grandchildren, Chrissy (Jesse) Kuhn, Jon Kuhn and Steph (Jorge) Brown; two great grandchildren, Jayke and Corey; a sister, Cathy (Jerome) Anderson of Wellsburg, WV; a brother, Robert (Kathleen) Powers, Jr. of Apopka, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents, is a brother, Leonard “Lenny” Powers. Friends and family will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Monday, May 1, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home, Inc., located at 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312, where services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, May 2, with her nephew, Jerome Anderson officiating.  Sorry to hear of Karen's passing..we grew up as kids in Avella!! I was close friend with Cathy!!!  Sorry i cant make it up!!! Cathy please get in touch with me..it would be great hearing from you!!! Prayers to the family!!!! 

My heart breaks greatly. Karen, Tonee and Amy were a part of my life for 8 years when I was a very little girl. I haven't seen you guys for 30+ years. But you all have been in my thoughts all those years.

Karen was my cousin shared young child memories growing up Was a beautiful person May God Bless her Love Margaret Campbell and family 

God bless the family as Karen was a wonderful person and one of the great Browntown kids and that grew up together. Karen was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed. Prayers to the family during this time and the fond memories will always be in my mind and heart.
