John Keith Leeper, 65, of Avella, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, April 9, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 18, 1951, in Steubenville, Ohio, son of the late Edwin A. Leeper Sr. and Elsie Mae Vicheck Leeper. Mr. Leeper was a 1969 graduate of Avella High School. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force as a Ballistic Missile Analyst Technician during Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1975. Mr. Leeper worked for Monsour Medical Center in Jeanette as a Bio-Medical Engineer for 12 years and Toshiba America Medical Systems for 35 years until he became ill. He was a former member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Leeper was a hard worker who enjoyed building drones and computers with his sons, using his 3-D printer, working on restoring his MG, skiing, jet skiing and bicycling with his wife. On September 3, 1971 he married Laurie M. Adams, who survives. Also surviving are, two sons, John Keith Leeper II and Regina Peeples of Avella, Matthew Leeper and his wife Katie Everett Leeper of Avella; a sister, Carole (Jeff) East of Chandler, AZ; two brothers, Edwin A. (Judith) Leeper Jr. of Washington, Robert (Robbi) Leeper of Bowdon, GA; mother-in-law, Dorothy Adams of Avella; and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received from 2pm until 6pm, when the American Legion Bert C. Siders Post 643 will conduct a military walk-thru, with the funeral service to immediately follow on Thursday, April 13, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home, Inc., located at 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312, with Pastor Bryce J. Grieco officiating.
