Harold J. Stritzinger Sunday, April 9, 1922 - Tuesday, June 27, 2017

Harold J. Stritzinger, 95, of Burgettstown, passed away at 2:44pm on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in his home surrounded by family. He was born on April 9, 1922, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Frank Regis and Catherine Pershon Stritzinger. Mr. Stritzinger worked for Climax Molybdenum Co., as a mechanic for 25 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church of Avella. Mr. Stritzinger was a hard worker. He operated his family farm in Burgettstown since 1939. When he wasn’t farming, he enjoyed restoring buggies and sleighs. On April 30, 1949 in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Oliver, he married his wife of 65 years, Mary Ellen Schmid, who died on May 4, 2014. Surviving Mr. Stritzinger are: three daughters, Mary Lee Fantoni of Burgettstown, Linda A. (Richard) Orton of Washington, Jane M. (Brian) Trimble of Seven Fields; two sons, John H. (Patricia) Stritzinger of Burgettstown, Michael F. (Suda) Stritzinger of Burgettstown; nine grandchildren, John “JC”, Paul, Kevin, David, Duane, Daniel, Victoria, Rachel and Ashley; four great-grandchildren, Samantha, Mariah, William and Beatrice; and a sister, Bernadette (Irv) Phillis of Burgettstown. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents are, a sister, Helen Marie Rohr; and two brothers, F. Regis & John Stritzinger. Friends and family will be received from 2pm-8pm on Thursday, June 29, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home, Inc., 18 Campbell St. Avella, PA 15312. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Friday, June 30, in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 95 Highland Ave. Avella, with Rev. Robert M. Staszewski.
